Planning Your Anna Maria Island Vacation
Are you unsure where to go for your mid/end of summer vacation? We recommend visiting the Sunshine State to see why people flock here from all over the world. It is no wonder that people visit Florida all year long due to its white sand beaches, bright blue water, friendly locals, mouthwatering seafood, and everything in between. Let’s see a few things to keep in mind before you head to Florida – and why an Anna Maria Island vacation is THE best spot if you are in the mood for a relaxing holiday with you and your pals.
Head to Manatee Public Beach
Manatee Public Beach is easily one of the best spots to bring your family or group of friends during your trip to AMI. Not only is the water super crystal clear, but there is ample space for you to set up an umbrella, build sandcastles, swim in the waves, go surfing, and sunbathe in the strong Florida sunshine. If you're interested in somewhere a little bit less crowded, we recommend hopping on over to Coquina Beach.
Walk Around Robinson Preserve
No trip to AMI is complete without visiting some of the beautiful natural parks that are just outside your doorstep. We love going to Robinson Preserve to wander around over 600 acres of coastal protected wetlands featuring incredible flora and fauna that you won’t find in other states. Plus, you can walk from here to the Coquina Baywalk in just minutes to continue your stroll along the coast.
Check Out the Museums
Even on a rare rainy day, there is SO much to do in AMI and Bradenton Beach. We love going to the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature if kids come with us on vacation to have an educational afternoon. You can also head to the Anna Maria Island Historical Museum to learn more about the history of your Anna Maria Island vacation spot or check out the Florida Maritime Museum to learn about the naval ships and marine life.
Go Shopping
Do you need to bring home a souvenir for your friends left at the office? Well, we have a great idea – go shopping on the main street! There are dozens of boutiques, vintage stores, and souvenir places for you to grab something that your loved ones will absolutely adore. We recommend going to AMI Outfitters Coastal Gaer to grab a t-shirt, The Island Cabana for a small souvenir, or the Pink and Navy Boutique for a date night outfit.
