There are dozens of cafes that are literally right outside of your doorstep, making it easy for you to grab an iced coffee, full stack of chocolate chip pancakes, or picnic lunch in just a few minutes. One of our favorite go-to spots during vacation is Peach’s Restaurant in Holmes Beach, serving up filling breakfast dishes and lunch take-away options. We love getting one of the famous Benedicts, like the Cobb benedict with a poached egg, sliced turkey, avocado, and toasted English muffin. Another fan favorite, especially for children, are cranberry nut pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, or very berry French toast with blueberries. If you are more in the mood for lunch, you can’t go wrong with a turkey avocado melt with tomatoes, bacon, and cheeses!
Another top spot to go for a no-frills breakfast that is a hit amongst locals is Minnie’s Beach Cafe, a relaxed and casual breakfast joint that consistently makes tasty food that you will want every single day! We recommend getting The Big Easy, a large dish with two eggs, home fries, one patty, one sausage link, bacon, and a fresh, buttery, home-made biscuit. What more could you want!
Time to Go for a Walk
After grabbing breakfast, it is time to burn off some of that energy! We recommend going to the waterfront and taking a stroll along one of the many pathways by the bright blue water. Bradenton is known for its expansive views over the gulf coast and the surrounding towns, providing cyclists, joggers, and hikers with numerous viewpoints that are perfect for Instagram photos.
Check out the Bridge Street Pier near Cortez to walk around and see the fishermen, vintage shops, upscale boutiques, local art galleries, and nightlife bars and pubs. You may even get the chance to listen to some live music while you explore this vibrant area!
Another great spot to walk is the Leffis Key Preserve, a natural area on Anna Maria Island that features large hills, incredible views of Sarasota Bay, natural plants, marine wildlife, estuaries, wetland habitats, and thousands of marsh grass plants that give it a wild and natural feel!
For those who just can’t get enough of the sunny weather and pristine views, continue to Coquina Bayside Park. This park is located on the southern tip of Anna Maria Island, making it less crowded than other spots. We love coming here for partaking in watersports, walking along the pathways during sunrise or sunset, or using the picnic sites to bring an outdoor lunch.
